Wolfe Lifts Polar Bears To Comeback Win Over Tufts

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Kyle Wolfe completed a comeback at number three singles to lift the Bowdoin College men's tennis team to a win over Tufts on Saturday afternoon, 5-4.

The Polar Bears move to 15-3 this season with the victory.

Match Highlights

  • Bowdoin found itself in a 2-1 hole after doubles action, with the lone point coming via the #3 duo of Justin Patel/Gil Roddy, who took a key 8-4 win.
  • Needing four singles matches to grab the victory, Bowdoin got straight-set wins from Grant Urken (6-3, 6-4) and Gil Roddy (6-1, 6-1) to draw closer.
  • Every other match went three sets, as Bowdoin got a win from Patel at #6 (6-0, 4-6, 6-1) only to see Tufts answer with a pair of victories to even the score at 4-4.
  • With the number three singles match the only remaining contest, Bowdoin's Kyle Wolfe rallied from a first-set deficit to overwhelm his opponent in the decisive third set in a 5-7, 7-5, 6-1 match-clinching victory.

Up Next
