Men's Tennis Edges Williams In Top-Ten Clash

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team edged Williams, 5-4, in a battle of top-ten squads on Saturday afternoon.

The fourth-ranked Polar Bears improve to 13-2 on the year after defeating the ninth-ranked Ephs.

Match Highlights

  • Bowdoin carried a 2-1 lead into singles action thanks to a pair of clutch victories in doubles play.
  • Luke Tercek and Grant Urken claimed an 8-5 win at #1 doubles before Gil Roddy and Justin Patel rallied from a 6-5 deficit to take a big 8-6 win at #3 for the Polar Bears.
  • Bowdoin was able to squeeze out the three singles wins they needed, thanks to comeback wins from Urken (6-7, 7-5, 6-2) and Jerry Jiang (3-6, 7-6 6-4), clinching it with a straight-set win from Gil Roddy (6-4 6-3).
