WALTHAM, Mass. - The Bowdoin baseball team picked up a 5-2 win at Brandeis on Tuesday evening to collected the team's first victory on New England soil.

The Polar Bears suffered four losses after returning from Florida, but climb to 7-12 after defeating the Judges (1-14).

Game Highlights

• Bowdoin got on the board early as Joe Gentile lofted a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Cody Todesco in the first inning.
• The Polar Bears put up their final four runs in the top of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. Sean Mullaney tallied an RBI sacrifice fly to center that drove in Colby Joncas. Cody Todesco tagged a two-out RBI triple down the right field line and Brandon Lopez immediately followed up with an RBI infield single.  Evann Dumont-LaPointe rounded out the inning with a chip to shortstop that ultamtely allowed Lopez to score.
• The Judges got a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth, cutting the lead to 5-2, but were unable to mount the comeback. With the bases loaded, Dan O'Leary pushed a run across the plate as he wore a pitch and Ryan Tettemer walked in the team's second run.

By the Numbers

• Colby Lewis got the start on the mound and pitched three shutout innings, while allowing just one run with a pair of K's. Seamus Keenan pitched the final inning for the save.
• The Bowdoin bullpen combined for seven strikeouts, two walks, and four hits.
• Jack Wilhoite tagged a double and Todesco recorded a triple in the game. Eric Mah joined Todesco with a stolen base.
• Lopez went 3-for-4 at the plate. Both Joncas and Mullaney were 2-for-3.

• The Polar Bears are scheduled to resume NESCAC East play with a three game series against Trinity beginning on Friday. Pending field conditions, the game will be played in Brunswick.
