Six Bowdoin Swimmers Secure Bids to Nationals

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Six Bowdoin swimmers have qualified for the NCAA Championship in Houston, Texas beginning on March 15.

Karl Sarier was the lone men's swimmer to qualify following a pair of first place finishes and a second place result at last weekend's NESCAC Championship. Sarier qualified and plans to compete in three events, including the 200 IM, 200 freestyle, and 100 freestyle.
Sterling Dixon qualified in the 400 IM, 200 IM, 200 fly, and 400 free relay. Dixon will compete in all the qualifying individual events in addition to all Bowdoin's relay teams.
Sophia Walker qualified with the 400 free relay and earned two individual B cuts. Walker will participate in the various relays and also swim the 200 IM and 50 free.
Marshall Lowery heads to her first NCAA Championship after qualifying in the 200 backstroke. The first-year will likely swim the 200 IM, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay.
Mariah Rawding qualified with Bowdoin's 400 free relay and will likely swim in all four relays.
Linnea Patterson also makes the trip to nationals after qualifying with the 400 free relay and will likely swim in both freestyle relays.
Bowdoin's diving hopefuls compete at MIT this weekend, looking for qualifying scores that put them in the top seven at the regional.
