Box Score AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey jumped out to an early two goal lead before host Amherst stormed back with six straight tallies to capture a 7-3 final on Friday night.
With the win, Amherst improves to 6-3-1 on the season and to 2-3-1 in league play, while Bowdoin falls to 6-5-0 overall (3-4-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Getting on the board 4:25 into the opening period, Chris Wallace tallied his third goal of the season to give Bowdoin a 1-0 lead. Taking advantage of a power play opportunity following an Amherst holding penalty, Wallace collected a pass from Daniel McMullan to the right of the net and one-timed a shot short side.
- Sebastian Foster doubled Bowdoin's lead less than 30 seconds later, as he corralled Matthew Lison's rebound and ripped a shot through the legs of Adam Ellison at 4:43.
- Amherst cut into Bowdoin's lead at 12:36 off a power play tally by P.J. Conlon. Chris Roll connected with Conlon on the back door, who was able to slide a shot past Peter Cronin on the far side.
- Amherst evened the game with another man-up goal four minutes later. Noah Gilreath fired a slap shot from the point through traffic, finding the low right side.
- The hosts outshot Bowdoin 13-4 in the second period and notched four straight goals to go ahead 6-2.
- Mitch Barrington scored the Polar Bears first goal since the opening period, five minutes into the final frame. Barrington went top shelf from the slot, over the shoulder of Ellison.
- Will Vosejpka capped the game with a one-timer off a feed from Conlon with three minutes to play.

- Ellison ended the day with 20 stops to earn his third win of the season.
- Cronin made 22 saves in net for the Polar Bears.
