BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team advanced to the conference semifinals following a 3-1 win at home against Amherst on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (18-6-1) advance to the NESCAC Semifinals for the first time since the 2022-23 season. Amherst ends the year at 12-11-2.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin came out and scored 1:08 into the first period to jump out to an early lead. Aidan Lyons fired a shot from the right point and the rebound off the pads sat in front for Michael Dinges to jump on. Dinges put the puck past Andrew Palena.
- Louie Marcellino put Bowdoin up two midway through the second. Will Rice pushed the puck from the boards behind the net up to Marcellino on the left dot. Marcellino settled the puck and put a shot in the net.
- Amherst got on the board with a power play goal in the final five minutes of the second. John Small and Josh Burke traded the puck back and forth before Burke finally finished from the top.
- Bowdoin extended its lead three minutes into the third with a Will Killoran blast from the right point.
