Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin baseball team allowed a combined 11 runs in the sixth and seventh innings as the Polar Bears fell 14-3 to Colby on Friday afternoon.
Bowdoin (12-9, 2-5 NESCAC) allowed eight earned runs in the game as the Mules (6-14, 2-2 NESCAC) outhit the Polar Bears by a slight 13-10 margin.
Game Highlights
- Colby went ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the second off an RBI single by Zach Ellenthal. The Mules doubled their lead in the fourth as Dan Csaplar drove in a run.
- Colby Joncas put Bowdoin on the board in the top of the sixth with an RBI single that drove in Evann Dumont-LaPointe.
- The Mules pushed six runs across the plate in the bottom half of the inning, beginning with a three-run blast by Matt Garcia.
- Colby continued to produce with five runs in the seventh, including an RBI double from Ellenthal and two-run triple off the bat of Tommy Forese.
- Ellenthal doubled in the eighth to drive in Colby's 14th run.
- Bjorn Hansen knocked a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to round out the day's scoring.
