AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Bowdoin baseball team extended its season opening win streak to five with a 9-3 victory over Lawrence University on Sunday evening.

The Polar Bears are 5-0 after the nine-inning outing, while Lawrence falls to 1-6.

Game Highlights

• Lawrence put a run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first off an RBI groundout by Dan Rothbauer.
• Bowdoin responded with a five-run second to quickly take the lead. Sawyer Billings, Cody Todesco, and Sean Mullaney all tagged RBI singles to put the Polar Bears up 3-0. Peter Cimini wrapped a double to left that drove in a pair of runs before Lawrence could end the inning.
• Chad Martin drove in Bowdoin's sixth run in the top of the fourth, followed by an RBI single from Brandon Lopez to right field.
• Andrew Lauber singled to center and drove in a Lawrence run in the sixth. Matthew Holliday scored on wild pitch in the eighth, but the Vikings were unable to catch Bowdoin.
• Cimini added a sacrifice fly in the eighth and Evann Dumont-LaPointe tallied a double down the left field line in the ninth to round out Bowdoin's scoring.

By The Numbers

• Richard Arms earned the win on the mound for Bowdoin with five complete innings. Arms allowed three hits and one run while striking out four and walking a pair.
• Bowdoin outhit the Vikings by a 13-8 margin.
• The Polar Bears stranded eight runners, while Lawrence left six men on base.
