Women's Basketball Dominates Second Half To Down Pomona

POMONA, Calif. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team bounced back from its first setback of the season to earn a convincing win at Pomona-Pitzer on Friday evening, 87-53.

The 13th-ranked Polar Bears improve to 9-1 on the year while the Sagehens remain winless at 0-10.

Game Highlights

  • The teams played a tightly-contested first half, but Bowdoin was able to use a 6-0 surge late in the second quarter to carry a 40-36 lead into halftime.
  • Pomona trimmed the lead to a single point, 40-39, with a three-pointer right out of the gate in the third quarter, but that was as close as they would get.
  • Bowdoin answered with seven straight points, sparked by a Marle Curle three-pointer, to gain an eight-point cushion.
  • The Polar Bears closed the third quarter on a 14-5 run to push the lead to 15 points and outscored the Sagehens 24-3 in the fourth quarter en route to the 34-point win.
