BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's rugby team posted its most lopsided win of the fall, 85-0, on Saturday over Castleton State.

The Polar Bears move to 3-1 this season with the victory.

Match Highlights

• Bowdoin rebounded a loss last week with a strong effort, scoring 13 tries and converting 10 of them
• Flyhalf Liz D'Angelo opened the scoring with a strong running play, outstepping the defense after Bowdoin's forwards won the scrum.
• Throughout the match, the forwards maintained strong go-forward ball with powerful runs from prop Pamela Zabala, lock Meredith Outterson, and co-captain Cristina Lima, opening up space for flanker Paige Pfannenstiel to touch the ball down seven times in the match, a Bowdoin record
• In addition to D'Angelo's first try, Pfannenstiel scored four tries, fullback Georgia Bolduc scored two and Mackenzie Philbrick added a try in the first 40 minutes.  Five of eight conversion kicks were made by D'Angelo and Schutzer. 
• Second half scoring came from Pimentel on a pick-n-go from the ruck, finding space through the defense and sprinting beneath the uprights.  Bolduc outpaced her opponents for her third try of the game, while Pfannenstiel added three more.  All five tries in the 2nd half were converted by Kendall Schutzer.
• Bowdoin's B-side lost to Middlebury's A-side in the second match of the day.
