Men's Tennis Win Steak Snapped in Thursday Loss at Bates

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team saw its six-game winning streak snapped in a loss at Bates, 6-3, on Thursday evening.

The eighth-ranked Polar Bears fall for the first time since returning from their spring trip to California and dip to 8-2 overall. 20th-ranked Bates improves to 8-4 on the season.

Bowdoin couldn't recover from a 2-1 deficit in doubles play as Kyle Wolstencroft/Gil Roddy (8-4) at #2 were the lone Polar Bear duo to net a win. Noah Bragg (6-3, 6-2) at #2 and Kyle Wolfe (6-4, 6-3) at #3 captured singles wins for Bowdoin, but the Polar Bears lost a pair of three-set matches in finally succumbing to the Bobcats.

The Polar Bears will return to action with a pair of matches this weekend as they travel to play at Hamilton at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and Amherst at 11:00 a.m. Sunday.
