Men's Tennis Overwhelms Williams in Singles Play to Beat Ephs

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team closed out its regular season with a flourish in an impressive 6-3 win at Williams on Saturday.

The eighth-ranked Polar Bears conclude their regular season with a record of 13-4 (6-3 NESCAC). 14th-ranked Williams drops to 9-9 (3-4 NESCAC).

Trailing 2-1 heading following doubles play, the Polar Bears simply overmatched the Ephs in singles action, recording a dominating performance to win five of six and clinch the win.

Kyle Wolfe and Noah Bragg were able to keep the Polar Bears alive with an 8-5 win at #3 doubles. Bowdoin dominated singles action, however, getting four straight-set wins from Luke Trinka (6-3, 6-3), Bragg (6-4, 6-3), Wolfe (6-1, 6-4) and Gil Roddy (6-3, 6-1). With the win already in hand, Kyle Wolstencroft took a hard-fought, three-set battle at #5, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8.

The Polar Bears will open play at the NESCAC Championship next weekend at Middlebury College. Pairings and match times will be announced early next week.
