BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's tennis team picked up one win against the sixth-ranked Panthers, falling 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The eighth-ranked Polar Bears suffer their third NESCAC loss, falling to 4-3 in conference play, with an overall 10-4 record. Middlebury improves to 15-2 on the season, while remaining perfect at 5-0 in NESCAC play.
Bowdoin suffered a close loss at #1 singles as the pairing of Luke Trinka and Luke Tercek lost 9-8 (7-5) as the Polar Bears were swept to open the match.
Noah Bragg, Kyle Wolstencroft, and Gil Roddy all played three set matches, with Bragg at #2 and Wolstencroft at #5 coming back from opening set losses. Tercek accounted for Bowdoin's lone point on the day as he won in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) at #4.
Bowdoin returns to action on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. as the Polar Bears host Washington and Lee.
