Men's Tennis Falls to Amherst in Top-Ten Battle

AMHERST, Mass. - The fifth-ranked Amherst men's tennis team took a commanding 3-0 lead after doubles play en route to a 8-1 decision over eighth-ranked Bowdoin on Sunday.

The loss drops the Polar Bears to 9-3 (3-2 NESCAC) this spring. Bowdoin will look to rebound on Wednesday when they travel to play at Colby.

The Polar Bears played the Jeffs tight in all three doubles matches, including the #1 position where Luke Trinka/Luke Tercek dropped a 9-7 match. Gil Roddy was the lone Polar Bear to earn a win in singles play, capturing a 7-6, 6-2 win at #6. Noah Bragg lost a three-set decision (6-4, 3-6, 10-8) at #2.
