Men's Tennis Cruises Past Chapman in Season Opener Sunday

ORANGE, Calif. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team earned a 7-2 triumph over Chapman in its season debut on Sunday evening in California.

The 18th-ranked Polar Bears begin their west coast swing with a victory and will return to action on Tuesday against Carnegie Mellon in Claremont.

On Sunday, Bowdoin swept doubles action to sprint to an early 3-0 lead. The #1 duo of Luke Trinka and Luke Tercek (8-4), #2 pairing of Kyle Wolstencroft and Kyle Wolfe (8-6) and #3 team of Noah Bragg and Gil Roddy (8-6) took control of the match for the Polar Bears.

Bowdoin took straight-set wins at positions #3-6 in singles action to seal the win. Wolfe (7-5, 6-4), Chase Savage (6-4, 6-2), Tercek (6-4, 6-1) and Roddy (7-6, 6-1) accounted for the Polar Bear points in the singles matches.
