Baseball Drops Third Game of East Division Set to Tufts on Monday Night

NORTHBORO, Mass. - The Tufts University baseball team claimed the third game of a NESCAC Eastern Division series against Bowdoin on Monday evening, 10-1, in a game played at the New England Baseball Complex.

The Jumbos improve to 11-4 (2-1 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 6-10 (1-2 NESCAC).

Aaron Rosen gave Bowdoin the lead in the top of the first inning, blasting a leadoff solo home run. But Tufts answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame and then tacked on a solo run in the fifth, two more in the sixth and clinched the game with a five-run eighth.

Bowdoin could only muster five hits off Tufts starter Kyle Slinger while Erik Jacobsen was tagged with the loss after allowing five earned runs over 5.2 frames of work. Chris Nadeau reached twice for Bowdoin while Bryan Egan led the Tufts attack with three hits four RBI and a home run.

The Polar Bears game scheduled for Wednesday against the University of Southern Maine has been postponed to April 10 at 3:30 p.m. Bowdoin is scheduled to play a three-game series with Bates this weekend, with the site of those games to be confirmed later this week.
