Men's Tennis Nets Second Win of Western Swing Against Carnegie Mellon

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team registered their second win of the season on Tuesday as they defeated Carnegie Mellon, 6-3.

The 18th-ranked Polar Bears improve to 2-0 and will return to action on Wednesday at 15th-ranked Pomona Pitzer.

Bowdoin won three very close doubles matches to grab a quick 3-0 lead against Carnegie Mellon. Luke Trinka/Luke Tercek won 8-6 at #1, Kyle Wolfe/Kyle Wolstencroft triumphed 8-6 at #2 and Noah Bragg/Gil Roddy closed out the sweep with a 9-7 victory at #3.

Bowdoin earned a pair of quick wins in singles play, courtesy of Tercek (6-3, 6-3) at #5 and Trinka (6-4, 6-2) at #1, who defeated Abhishek Alla, who is ranked #11 in Division III. Chase Savage rounded out the Polar Bear winners with a three-set 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 win at #4.
