Box Score MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Bowdoin College men's soccer team will get a chance to defend its NESCAC Championship after an impressive 2-0 win over Connecticut College in the conference semifinals on Saturday at Middlebury College.
The Polar Bears (9-3-4), who are riding a seven-game unbeaten streak, will face eighth-seeded Wesleyan in the title match at noon on Sunday.
How It Happened
- Bowdoin scored twice in the first half, getting all the scoring it would need to earn a return trip to the finals
- Hunter Miller got the Polar Bears on the board in the 12th minute as Kiefer Solarte crossed the ball into the box from the right side. Miller tapped in the feed at 11:08 to give Bowdoin the lead.
- Bowdoin doubled its lead in the 24th minute when a set piece from outside the penalty area was played by Matty McColl to the head of Cedric Charlier, who knocked home his third goal of the year at 23:47
- Conn. College held a 7-4 edge in shots for the contest, but Bowdoin's Stevie Van Siclen was up to the task, stopping four shots in the shutout for the Polar Bears, who have allowed just one goal in their last six contests
