Box Score WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team opened the 2015-16 season with a 4-1 loss on Saturday afternoon at Williams College.
The Ephs open the season with win and 1-0-0 mark, while dropping the Polar Bears to 0-1-0.
How It Happened
- Williams' George Hunkele scored late in the first period to give the Ephs a 1-0 lead with 1:04 remaining. Hunkele shot from a low angle, nearly even with the goal line, off of a long saucer pass from Greg Johnson.
- Bowdoin evened the game 9:30 into the second period off a goal from Cody Todesco. Matthew Lison fired a shot from the point that Todesco tipped for his first collegiate goal.
- The Ephs responded with a quick power play goal 28 seconds later. David Italiano received a low cross from Sam Gray and found the net before Peter Cronin could slide across the crease.
- James McNamara tallied Williams' third goal of the game at 13:32, while Tyler Young made it 4-1 late in the third period. Young stole the puck in the neutral zone and slipped a shot inside the right post.

- Cronin had 34 saves in the game, while Noah Klag made 30 for Williams.
- Bowdoin went 0 for 4 on the power play, while the Ephs were 1 for 5 on the man-up advantage.
