Box Score MEDFORD, Mass. - Tufts junior Chance Brady rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Jumbos over Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon, 43-24.
With the win, Tufts snaps a five-game losing streak to the Polar Bears and improves to 3-0 for the first time since 2007. Bowdoin falls to 0-3 overall this season.
How It Happened
- Tufts scored on four of its first five possessions and eight of its first ten overall, scoring its most points in a game since 2010
- The Jumbos racked up 449 yards, including 239 on the ground for the afternoon
- The hosts built a 17-0 first quarter lead before Bowdoin got on the board early in the second quarter, held a 27-10 lead at halftime and extended their advantage to 37-10 in the third quarter en route to the win
- Tufts Willie Holmquist tied a Tufts school record with three field goals in the contest
- The Jumbo defense forced three Bowdoin turnovers and sacked the Polar Bears three times, holding the Polar Bears to just 30 yards rushing
- The Polar Bears (0-3) gained 381 of their 411 total yards through the air as Tim Drakeley went 14-27 for 222 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions
- Noah Nelson made his collegiate debut by going 11-16 for 134 yards and a score
- Nick Vailas led the way on the receiving end, catching eight passes for 158 yards and a touchdown while Daniel Barone hauled in seven passes for 135 yards and a score
- Philippe Archambault led Bowdoin with 12 tackles
