Williams Snaps Bowdoin's Win Streak in Top-Ten Men's Tennis Battle

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team saw its longest winning streak in over a decade come to an end on Saturday afternoon to Williams, 5-4.

The ninth-ranked Polar Bears, who had rolled off nine straight wins dating back to March 20, finish their regular season with a record of 11-6 (7-2 NESCAC). The third-ranked Ephs move to 15-1 (6-1 NESCAC). Both teams will compete at the NESCAC Championship at Williams beginning on Friday, May 4. Pairings will be announced on Monday.

Bowdoin saw its recent string of doubles dominance come to an end with a pair of losses to the Ephs. Casey Grindon and Chris Lord were the lone Polar Bears winners at #3 doubles. Bowdoin's #1 team of Oscar Pena and Sam King pushed Williams' top-ranked duo to the limit in a 9-7 setback. The Polar Bears rebounded to win three of the six singles matches, with Pena (#1), Grindon (#4) and Noah Bragg (#5) all earning wins. The Ephs prevailed with straight-set victories in the other three matches to secure the win.
