Top-Seeded Amherst Takes Down Bowdoin in NESCAC Semifinals

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Amherst College men's tennis team eliminated Bowdoin from NESCAC Championship contention on Saturday, dispatching the Polar Bears with a 5-0 win in the conference seminfinals. Amherst improves to 30-1 this season while the Polar Bears (12-6) will hope for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament when selections are announced on Monday.

Amherst swept all three doubles matches, with Wes Waterman and Mortiz Koenig edging Samuel King and Chris Lord 9-7 at #2. Koenig made quick work of Michael Powers, earning a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6 to give the Jeffs a 4-0 lead. Austin Chafetz followed with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lord, sealing the victory at #3 singles.
