Polar Bears Close Out Regular Season With Two NESCAC Wins

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team continued to roll, picking up two wins in as many days this weekend to complete its regular season with an 11-5 record (6-3 NESCAC). Seeding for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament will be announced on Monday with the tournament scheduled for Middlebury College on May 6-8.

The 14th-ranked Polar Bears defeated 15th-ranked Trinity in impressive fashion Friday, 7-2, at Harvard University. Bowdoin then turned around and handled colby 8-1 in Waterville on Saturday. The Polar Bears will carry a four-match winning streak heading into tournament play.

Stephen Sullivan's recent hot play continued, as he dropped just three games in a pair of #1 singles wins over the weekend, earning a 6-0, 6-1 win against Trinity and a 6-1, 6-1 win at Colby. Sullivan is currently ranked 15th among Division III players. He also paired with Oscar Pena for a pair of doubles wins against the Bantams and Mules.

Casey Grindon and Michael Power also collected a pair of victories in weekend play as Chris Lord and Sam King also earned two wins at #2 doubles. During their current four-match winning streak, the Polar Bears have won 11 of 12 doubles matches.
