BRUNSWICK, Maine - Kenny Destremps hit a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give the Brandeis University baseball team a wild 8-7 win at Bowdoin on Wednesday afternoon at Pickard Field. The Judges, who rallied from a four-run deficit and then squandered a three-run edge later in the game, improve to 23-13 this spring while Bowdoin falls to 19-8.

Bowdoin built a four-run lead as the Judges remained hitless until the sixth inning. The Judges stormed back on a two-run homer from Tony Deshler in the sixth and a Sean O'Hare grand slam in the seventh. Brandeis held a 7-5 lead entering the ninth before a John Lefeber solo home run trimmed the lead to 7-6. Jordan Edgett followed with a single and pinch-runner Kyle LeBlanc stole second. With two outs and two strikes, Brett Gorman ripped a double down the left field line to score LeBlanc and send the game into extra innings.

After a scoreless tenth, Destrempts blasted a solo shot to lead off the 11th inning. Bowdoin was able to escape more trouble later in the 11th and made a bid to tie the game in the bottom of the frame, but Matt Savard's long blast to left was caught at the wall as the Judges held on for a one-run win.

Alex Tynan took the win for Brandeis with two innings of no-hit relief. Gabe Faithful allowed just one hit in one inning pitched - the Destrempts home run - and was tagged with the loss for Bowdoin. Lefeber led all players with three hits for Bowdoin, who also got two hits from Edgett. Deshler and Destremps had two hits apiece for the Judges.
