GORHAM, Maine - The University of Southern Maine men's ice hockey team scored three times in the final period to rally past Bowdoin on Tuesday evening, 3-1. With their third straight win, the Huskies improve to 4-4-0 this year while the Polar Bears drop their second straight game and fall to 3-3-1.

Ollie Koo got Bowdoin on the board with his first goal of the season at 3:03, with rookies John McGinnis and Tim Coffey earning assists on the power play goal. After a scoreless second frame, the Huskies evened the score on a power play goal of their own at 4:58 of the third period courtesy of Angelo Vrachnas.

Jon Grandinetti put Southern Maine ahead for good on a goal with just 2:04 remaining. After a Bowdoin timeout, Ryan Seward deposited an empty-netter to seal the win for USM.

Richard Nerland made 28 saves for Bowdoin while Braely Torris stopped 31 for the Huskies. Bowdoin held a 32-31 edge in shots as both teams took three penalties for six minutes and each went 1-3 on the power play.
