BOX SCORE
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Husson University baseball team rolled to
their fourth straight win, a 7-2 decision against Bowdoin College
in a non-conference game played at Pickard Field on Wednesday
afternoon. The Eagles improve to 19-15 this season while the Polar
Bears have lost three straight games and fall to 20-8 overall.
The Eagles rapped out 13 hits, including three from Chris Maguire
and got a complete game from southpaw Ryan Arsenault, who scattered
10 Polar Bear hits in the victory. Brendan Garner had a team-high
three hits in the loss for the Polar Bears.
Cody Haverly-Johndro got Husson going with a two-run single
through the left side in the second inning. The Eagles added
another run in the fifth when Tom Crews laced an RBI single.
Bowdoin recovered to trim the lead to 3-1 in the sixth when Joe
Comizio plated Brett Gorman on a double. Arsenault slipped out of
further trouble in the inning, however, and Husson added three runs
in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Evan Farley took the loss for Bowdoin on a 'staff' day as eight
different Polar Bears took the mound. Bowdoin will host a key
three-game NESCAC series against Tufts beginning on Friday at 3:00
p.m.
