BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team's
seven-match winning streak came to an end with a 6-3 loss to
Middlebury on Saturday. The Panthers are ranked sixth in Division
III and improve to 12-2. Eleventh-ranked Bowdoin drops to 9-3
overall on the year.
Bowdoin carried a 2-1 advantage into singles play as Oscar Pena and
Jamie Neely claimed a victory at number one singles with Stephen
Sullivan and Alex Caughron posting a win at number two. The
Panthers bounced back to claim five of six singles matches with
Bowdoin's lone point coming from Caughron at number five.
The Polar Bears will look to rebound on Friday with a
non-conference match at MIT.
