NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - The Bowdoin College men's basketball team
earned a victory in their first game in over two weeks, defeating
NAIA school Johnson & Wales (Florida), 64-61, in a game played
in south Florida on Wednesday afternoon. The Polar Bears collect
their sixth win in their last seven games and improve to 7-2
overall this season.
Mark Phillips connected on 10-15 shots from the field and
finished with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
Ryan O'Connell and Will Hanley had 11 points apiece for the Polar
Bears, while Mike Hauser dished out eight assists.
The Polar Bears trailed by six at halftime, 35-29, before using
a second-half rally to pull out the win. Bowdoin forced 18
turnovers and dominated the boards, holding a 37-24 advantage on
the glass.
The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday, January 6, when
they host St. Joseph's at 7:00 p.m.
