BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College baseball team is ranked
in the latest national poll released this week by the American
Baseball Coaches Association. The Polar Bears (25-5-1) have set the
school's single-season record for victories and stand 23rd in the
rankings of the top 30 teams in Division III baseball.
The Polar Bears will host the New England Small College Athletic
Conference baseball tournament on Friday, May 12-14. Bowdoin
clinched the top seed in the Eastern Division with a three-game
sweep of Bates last weekend. Overall, Bowdoin has not lost since
April 5, and owns a school-record 16-game unbeaten streak (15-0-1).
They are ninth in the nation with a .823 winning percentage.
The Polar Bears will play at Colby on Thursday night and host a
doubleheader against Middlebury in their regular season finale on
Saturday at noon. More details about the conference tournament will
be announced next week.
