BRUNSWICK, Maine - Junior men's basketball player Braden Clement
has been named Player of the Week by the New England Small College
Athletic Conference (NESCAC).
Clement jump-started the Polar Bear men's basketball team to two
important NESCAC wins last weekend over perennial rivals Middlebury
and Williams. The Skowhegan native scored a game-high 15 points in
a five-point win over Middlebury before lighting up then-13th
ranked Williams for 24 points (9-12 shooting, 6-8 from three-point
range) and seven rebounds in a 30-point victory. Clement is
averaging exactly 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds on the year. The win
over Williams marked the first victory over the Ephs by the Polar
Bears since the 1981-82 season. Bowdoin currently stands at 12-5 on
the year and is in a three-way tie for first place in the
conference standings, and will host Bates and Tufts this
weekend.
