Patrick Brady nets two; Men’s Soccer defeats UNE on the road

BIDDEFORD, Maine – In his second career-game as a Polar Bear, freshman Patrick Brady scored two goals to help the preseason fifth-ranked Bowdoin men's soccer team defeat the University of New England on Tuesday evening. The Polar Bears held a 27-7 edge in shots and an 8-3 advantage in shots on goals to elevate to 1-0-1 while the Nor-Easters 2-1-1.

Game Highlights

  • After suffering a goal by way of penalty kick in the 21st minute, Brady netted his first career goal five minutes later with Donovan Sinicropi making the play happen with a takeaway from UNE's goalkeeper deep outside of the box to allow the midrange chip shot by Brady to tie the game at 1-1.

  • Bowdoin claimed the lead in the second half with Adam Prince connecting on a header off a cross by Keito Ishibashi for the assist in the 59th minute.

  • Brady sealed the game at the 66:45 mark with a tricky shot that trickled past the goalkeeper before finding the bottom left corner of the net to make it a two-goal contest and decide the game at 3-1.
