BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College volleyball team took the set second 25-23 but ultimately fell to No. 2 nationally-ranked Colby inside the Morrell Gymnasium on Friday night. The Mules (8-0, 3-0 NESCAC) snapped the Polar Bears (8-4, 2-1 NESCAC) five-game win-streak. 

Game Highlights

• After dropping the first 25-22, the Polar Bears handed Colby its first set loss in over two matches, with a 25-23 victory backed by seven kills from Zoe Ryu.

• The Mules got better as the contest went on with Bowdoin trailing by four points at the 15-11 mark before falling 25-19 in the third set.

• Colby's depth proved to be too much for Bowdoin, bowing out in the fourth set by a score of 25-8.

By The Numbers

• Ryu led the home squad with 10 kills as Skye LaMendola recorded nine and Alison Smith chipped in eight.

• Cameron Shelly (20) and Molly Dunn (16) each reached double-figures to lead the way in assists.

• Anna Yeh (17), Ryu (13) and LaMendola (11) posted team-highs in digs.

• Hannah Woolley recorded three kills and a team-best five total blocks.

• The Polar Bears take to the road next week traveling to MIT on Friday (7:00 p.m.) before resuming league play at Williams (2:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
