BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College volleyball team earned its fifth-straight win with a 3-0 sweep over Maine Maritime at the Morrell Gymnasium on Tuesday evening. The Polar Bears now sit at 8-3 (2-0 NESCAC) overall while the Mariners drop to 3-8 overall 

Game Highlights

• Bowdoin controlled the match from the jump, with Alison Smith accounting for seven kills in the first set that the home team won in a 25-18 decision. 

• The Polar Bears continued to get better as the contest went on, seeing the final two sets won by double-digit scores as set two was claimed 25-14 before a 25-12 third set completed the sweep.

• Bowdoin opened the third set on a 9-0 run and saw Skye LaMendola account for four of the team's final six kills.

By The Numbers

• LaMendola (15) and Smith (12) each reached double-figure kills as Hannah Woolley added eight.

• Cameron Shelly (20) and Molly Dunn (14) led the team in assists.

• Anna Yeh and LaMendola each accounted for the team-high with 11 digs as Dunn chipped in eight.

• The Polar Bears had 21 more kills and assists than the Mariners and held a 9-0 edge in service aces.
