Volleyball sweeps Southern Maine in Home-Opener

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College volleyball team enjoyed a 3-0 sweep over Southern Maine for its home opener on Wednesday evening. The Polar Bears elevate to 4-3 overall while the Huskies fall to 2-6.

Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin had lopsided wins in sets one (25-9) and three (25-7) but needed every point in the second set to complete the sweep, with a second set final of 25-23.

  • The Polar Bears rattled off six-straight points after trailing 23-19 in the second set. 

  • The home team opened the third set with a convincing 11-2 run before cruising to a 25-7 decision to secure a home-opening win.
