MEDFORD, Mass. – The Bowdoin College volleyball team dropped contests to two nationally-ranked teams to wrap the Tufts Invitational at the Cousens Gymnasium on Saturday. The Polar Bears opened the day falling to No. 2 nationally-ranked Trinity (6-1) before falling to host Tufts (3-3) for a 3-3 overall record.

Trinity Highlights

• The Polar Bears hung with the Tigers in the first two sets, falling 26-24 in the opening set before another close contest of 25-20 in the second set before Trinity claimed the game with a 25-15 third set.

• Skye LaMendola (10) and Alison Smith (8) led the squad in kills while Cameron Shelly had 16 assists.

• Anna Yeh reached double-figure digs with a game-high 14.

Tufts Highlights

• Alison Smith led all Bowdoin attackers with a season-high 18 kills while hitting .412 for the match. Skye LaMendola added 10 kills, while Zoe Ryu contributed eight. Smith also finished with four blocks.

• The Polar Bears commanded set two, with a decisive 25-14 win.

• Haley Campau had a game-high six blocks while Smith added four and Hannah Woolley had three. 

• Cameron Shelly (24) and Zora Scannell-Rooks (11) finished with double-figure assists while Anna Yeh led the way with 16 digs.

• Bowdoin returns to action next week for its home-opener welcoming Southern Maine for a non-conference clash on Wednesday, slated for a 6:00 p.m. start.
