CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team struggled in New York with a 4-1 setback at Hamilton on Saturday.
The Continentals (11-6-4, 7-4-3 NESCAC) sweep the series and drop the Polar Bears to 9-10-0 (3-9-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- The Continentals took a 2-0 lead with goals at 11:50 and 14:00 in the first period. Parker Lial shoved home a rebound to put Hamilton on the board. Grace Puskar added the team's second goal with a low-angle shot from the right side.
- Bowdoin cut the lead in half with 2:23 remaining in the period to make it 2-1 going into the first intermission. On the power play, Charlee Frankenfeld ripped a shot from the top of the zone and capitalized on a screen in front to beat the goalie top shelf.
- Hamilton extended its lead in the third with a Bri Rockwood goal at 3:02. Rockwood buried a shot from the left side dot to the far post, capitalizing on a screen in front.
- Hamilton iced the game with a fourth goal at the midway point of the third.
