BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team knocked off NESCAC-leading Hamilton 2-1 on Friday night on a last minute goal in a battle of two nationally-ranked programs.
The Polar Bears force a series split and climb to 13-5-1 (9-3-1 NESCAC) after handing the Continentals their first conference loss of the season (15-2-2, 11-1-1 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead on the game's first power play. Aidan Lyons fed Justin Wright as they cycled through the left side of the Hamilton zone. Wright left the puck for Louie Marcellino who wristed a top-shelf shot from the left dot at 7:44.
- Hamilton tied the game with a power play goal of their own at 7:29 in the second. Justin Biraden put a shot on net and Alex Danis tapped in the rebound on the left post.
- Dinges came up with the last minute goal to give the Polar Bears the win with 54 seconds remaining in the game. Will Killoran fired a shot from the right point and the Dinges touch put the puck past Aksel Reid.
