Wright's OT Game-Winner Lifts Men's Hockey Past Conn College

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Justin Wright scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Bowdoin College men's ice hockey team a 3-2 win over Connecticut College on Friday night at Watson Arena. The Polar Bears, winners of eight straight games, improve to 17-5-1 (13-3-1 NESCAC) while the Camels fall to 9-13-1 (5-11-1).
 
Game Highlights
  • The Camels broke through with 5:50 remaining in the first period. Quinn Kennedy skated around the back of the Bowdoin net and found Matt Lewis in front for a one-timer through Jacob Osborne.
  • Bowdoin found an equalizer at 9:38 in the second. Jayson Alegria found Hunter Fetterolf from behind the net to the left side. Fetterolf handled around a defender and put a low angle shot to the far post.
  • Bowdoin took the lead three minutes later with a one-timer by Will Rice from just outside the crease off a Louie Marcellino setup.
  • Will Lawrence sent the teams into the second intermission tied 2-2 after converting on a screen in front of Osborne and deflected puck off a defender.
  • After a scoreless third period, the Polar Bears took the win in overtime as Jayson Alegria put a shot on goal and Justin Wright buried the rebound at 2:40.

  • Bowdoin owned a 35-26 advantage in shots for the contest.
  • Jacob Osborne posted 24 saves, including nine in the third period.
  • Alegria had a pair of assists for the Polar Bears.
  • Both teams went scoreless on the power play: Bowdoin (0-2) and Conn (0-1).
  • Bowdoin's 17 wins are the most in a season for the program since 2013-14.
