Polar Bears Fall to Trinity 2-1 in Women's Hockey

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's hockey team suffered an upset loss to Trinity at home on Friday night in a 2-1 final.
 
The Polar Bears are 9-3-0 with a 3-2-0 NESCAC record. The Bantams pick up their first conference win of the season at 5-6-0 (1-4-0 NESCAC.
 
Game Highlights
  • Trinity scored the first goal of the game at 12:58 shortly after killing a power play. Caroline Holm was just above the crease and found Meena Al-Kadiri on the left side. Al-Kadiri crossed to a wide-open Sophie Rousell on the opposite post for a goal.
  • The Bantams doubled their lead midway through the second. Nani Keyes worked the puck out from the left corner and skated into the near circle before wristing a shot far post.
  • Meghan Britt put Bowdoin on the board five minutes into the last period. The sophomore came in to scoop up a loose puck on the left side and put a one-timer to the near post.
By the Numbers
  • Both teams were 0-for-1 on the power play.
  • Madeline Carter made 19 saves for the win.
  • Sarah Peterson stopped nine shots.
  • Trinity owned a 25-16 faceoff advantage.
