Men's Hockey Suffers First Conference Loss At Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The Bowdoin men's hockey team fell 3-2 in a battle of the conference unbeatens as Hamilton took control of the top spot in league play on Friday night.
 
The Polar Bears are 8-3-1 (4-1-1 NESCAC) as the Continentals climb to 9-1-2 (5-0-1 NESCAC).

Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored in the last five minutes of the first period to go ahead 1-0. After the puck bounced off the back boards, Bryce Bollman crashed into the crease and allowed Will Rice to come in behind and clean up a goal.
  • Hamilton sent the teams into the first intermission knotted at 1-1 after a last second goal by Zach Walsh. Walsh ducked a defender in the middle of the zone and shot through traffic to best Jacob Osborne.
  • John Wojciechowski gave the Continentals a lead in the 10th minute of the second with a power play one-timer.
  • Two minutes later, Pierre Larocque scored his first collegiate goal to tie the game. Larocque rifled a shot from the top of the right circle.
  • Hamilton converted on a four-on-three power play early in the third to retake the lead. Luke Tschor put away a no-angle shot from the right side.

  • Osborne made 25 saves in the setback.
  • Aksel Reid made 21 stops for the Continentals.
  • Hamilton converted on the power play, going 2-for-5.
  • Bowdoin went 0-for-2 on the power play.
  • The teams were an even 30-30 on the faceoff dot.
