Amherst Hands Men's Hockey 2-1 Setback

AMHERST, Mass. – The Bowdoin men's ice hockey team could not mount a full comeback and fell 2-1 to Amherst on the road on Saturday.

Bowdoin returns home with an 8-4-1 (4-2-1 NESCAC) record. The Mammoths collect their second conference win to climb to 6-4-2 (2-4-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Amherst carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission after goals at 12:11 and 17:46. Caden Olenczak converted with a one-timer in the low slot from Cristobal Tola.
  • The Mammoths' second goal came as Matt Vander fired a shot from the left point and Quinton Gove deflected the puck in front.
  • Bowdoin got on the board midway through the final frame. Ricky Volpe ripped a one-timer from the right point, finishing off a feed from Isaac Abbott in the center.
