Volleyball Splits Matches on Opening Day of Red Dragon Tournament

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College volleyball team split a pair of matches in Upstate New York on Saturday, falling to Cortland and defeating Hartwick at the Red Dragon Tournament. The Polar Bears stand at 1-2 this season after the split. 

Cortland Match Highlights
  • Bowdoin rallied from a two-set deficit against Cortland but lost an eventual 25-19, 25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 15-8 decision to the Red Dragons.
  • Skye LaMendola and Zoe Ryu had 14 kills apiece to lead the Bowdoin offense. 
  • Kelsey Kim had three aces and 15 digs while Anna Yeh pitched in 23 assists and 15 digs for Bowdoin. 
  • Hannah Woolley led the Polar Bear defense with six blocks. 
Hartwick Match Highlights
  • Bowdoin made quick work of Hartwick to earn their first win of the season, 25-19, 25-11, 25-19 in their second match of the day. 
  • LaMendola totaled a match-high 17 kills while Anna Yeh dished out 23 assists. 
  • Kelsey Kim had ten digs and LaMendola had nine.
  • Bowdoin hit at 36.8% for the game and committed just 12 attack errors in the match.
