Football Looking For First Win at Middlebury Saturday

SATURDAY'S GAME
In a match-up between teams looking for their first wins of the season, the Bowdoin College football team (0-1) will travel to Vermont to face Middlebury (0-1) at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

LIVE COVERAGE
Middlebury will broadcast the game live on the Northeast Sports Network. Live stats can be found here.

LAST WEEK
Middlebury went on the road and lost 31-17 to Wesleyan while the Polar Bears dropped a 13-0 decision at home to Tufts.

LAST MEETING
Last year in Brunswick, the Polar Bears owned a 12-7 halftime lead and 15-7 edge midway through the third quarter before Middlebury rolled off 32 straight points to take a 39-15 win at Whittier Field. Bowdoin finished with a 37:28-22:32 edge in time of possession but only gained 96 yards of total offense in the second half. Angus Leary had five tackles, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and two pass break-ups.

BOWDOIN vs. MIDDLEBURY – ALL-TIME
Despite the long-time rivalry between the schools in most sports, the football teams have played just 29 times due to the NESCAC's rotating schedule prior to 2018. Middlebury has won ten straight in the series dating back to 2012 with Bowdoin's last win coming in 2009 (the teams didn't play in 2010, '11, '14, '16 and '20). The Polar Bears' last win in Middlebury came in 1990. The Panthers lead the all-time series 21-7-1.
