Women's Soccer Races Past Huskies In Tuesday Night Win

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin sophomore Kayley Huleatt had two goals and two assists to propel the Polar Bear women's soccer team to a 5-2 win over Southern Maine on Tuesday evening at Pickard Field. The Polar Bears move to 3-1-0 while the Huskies fall to 3-3-0 on the year.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin's Catherine Webster got the scoring started, putting home a feed from Stephanie Christanson in the 19th minute.
  • After USM answered in the 22nd minute, Huleatt found the back of the net in the 34th minute to give Bowdoin a 2-1 edge at the break.
  • Bowdoin put the contest out of reach with three goals in a span of 11:24 in the second half.
  • Webster found the back of the net for the second time at 54:17, followed by Christianson off a cross from Huleatt at 64:41.
  • One minute later, Huleatt put home a loose ball in front to push the lead to 5-1.

  • Charlotte Iannone made three saves in 71:14 before giving way to Clare Miller, who stopped two shots in 18:46.
  • Bowdoin owned an 18-9 edge in shots and 6-3 advantage in corner kicks for the game.
