Women's Soccer Grounds Eagles In 2-0 Midweek Matchup

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's soccer team continued its strong start to the season with a 2-0 win over Husson on Wednesday night.
 
The Polar Bears are 4-1-0 on the year. The Eagles sit at 3-3-1.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored in the 30th minute to go ahead 1-0. Annabel Callahan made a move around a defender right of center. Callahan booted a right-footed shot to the far side to beat Madison Weigler on the angle.
  • Sienna Masood found the net in the final five minutes of regulation to make the game 2-0. Stephanie Christianson streaked down the field and drew the goalie to left. With Weigler well out of position, the ball bounced to Masood at the top of the box for a wide-open shot on net.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin fired off nine shots on net. The Eagles tested Charlotte Iannone three times.
  • Weigler ended the day with seven saves.
  • The Polar Bears earned four corner kicks and surrendered none.
