Men's Soccer Battles To 1-1 Tie Against Connecticut College

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's soccer team settled for a 1-1 tie against Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears are 3-0-1 (1-0-1 NESCAC) after their first tie of the year. The Camels are 1-1-2 (0-1-1 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute. Tyler Huck took a low angle shot as he slid to the grass on the left side of the net. TJ Krongard made a diving save to deny Huck's bid, but the ball came off the keeper's hands and found the foot of a streaking Mateo Pacelli.
  • The Camels tied the game in the final two minutes. Gavin Mpiana took a corner kick from the right side and put the ball directly into Alex Ainsworth's hands. Ainsworth bobbled the play and Elliot Spatz got the ball across the goal line.

  • Bowdoin held a 9-7 shots advantage and a narrow 4-3 edge in shots on goal.
  • Connecticut College earned six corner kicks, including five in the second half, while Bowdoin had two.
  • Alex Ainsworth made a pair of saves.
