Polar Bears Top Camels 3-1 at Home

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin field hockey team remained perfect with a 3-1 win over visiting Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 3-0 (2-0 NESCAC) while dropping the Camels to 2-2 (0-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Emily Ferguson put Bowdoin on the board with a successful stroke conversion 1:03 into the second quarter.
  • After 11 unsuccessful penalty corners in the first half of action, Bowdoin scored on its first of the third quarter. Clara Noyes took the ball at the top of the circle and slipped a pass right for Ferguson. Ferguson quickly crossed a flat pass left to Maddie Mrva who received and swept in Bowdoin's second goal.
  • The Camels stayed in the game and found the net midway through the same quarter. On a penalty corner, Serena Moore received the ball at the top of the circle and put a slightly lifted ball over the sticks of Bowdoin to the left post.
  • Bowdoin scored its third and final goal with 6:39 remaining in the game. The ball made its way back down to Ella Davies after a corner insert, and Davies crossed for a mid-goal face finish by Ferguson.
 
By the Numbers
  • Lauren O'Donald made four saves, including a huge stop early in the game on a point-blank bid.
  • Isabella Carnall made seven stops for the Camels.
  • Bowdoin took 16 corners and allowed six.
