BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College softball team is the seventh seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament that will begin at Pickard Field on Friday.
Tufts earned the right to host as top seed but, due to expected rain in Boston on Friday, the games have been moved to Brunswick. Bowdoin will open against second-seeded Williams at 1:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals, following an 11:00 a.m. game between Tufts and Amherst. Four games are scheduled for Saturday, with the remaining quarterfinal games between No. 4 Colby and No. 5 Middlebury and No. 3 Wesleyan versus No. 6 Bates. The championship game is set for Sunday at 11 a.m.
Bowdoin is the No. 7 seed for the second year in a row and advanced to the semifinals last season, where the Polar Bears dropped a 10-2 decision to the Ephs. The quarterfinal game marks the 12th meeting between the teams in the postseason. Bowdoin will be looking for a measure of revenge against Williams, who took a doubleheader sweep of the Polar Bears in Brunswick on April 5.
All games will be carried live by the
Northeast Sports Network.
