BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College softball team was recognized with numerous postseason awards in both NESCAC and NFCA All-Region awards announced last week.

Senior Anika Ewert (Newport Coast, Calif.) and sophomore Maddie Paschke (Norfolk, Mass.) were named First Team All-NESCAC while sophomore Rosie Panenka (Freeport, Maine) was tabbed as a Second Team honoree. In NFCA All-Region I honors, Ewert was recognized as a First Team choice, Panenka earned Second Team, and Paschke was named Third Team.

Ewert led all of Division III in batting this spring, posting a .625 batting average with a .682 on base percentage and 44 stolen bases in 47 attempts. She graduates holding Bowdoin's career records in hits (223), stolen bases (135), runs (172), batting average (.555), and on base percentage (.602) while striking out just three times in her entire career.

Maddie Paschke enjoyed a breakout campaign for the Polar Bears this spring. She batted .364 with a team-leading 12 extra base hits and 34 RBI on the year.

Rosie Panenka built on an excellent rookie campaign last spring to stand third on the squad with a .375 batting average this season. She was second on the team with a .500 on base percentage and ended the year with seven doubles and 15 RBI.

Bowdoin concluded one of the most successful seasons in program history with a 27-11 record and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010.
