Men's Tennis Falls to Babson in NCAA Third Round Match

FALMOUTH, Maine – The Bowdoin men's tennis team saw its season come to an end in a 4-3 defeat to Babson in the Third Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday. The Polar Bears finish their year with a record of 18-5 while Babson moves on to the national quarterfinals with a record of 21-2.
 
Match Highlights
  • Bowdoin claimed the doubles point thanks to a 7-6 tiebreaker win by Mick Tamas and Aden Dorros, after Mark Kneiss and Jackson Codd had posted a 6-4 win at number two doubles for the Polar Bears.
  • With four courts available, Babson quickly grabbed three singles matches and pushed Bowdoin to the edge.
  • Mark Kneiss battled back from a first set loss to take a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at number one and Kiran Garapati posted a fast 6-3, 6-1 victory at number five to deadlock the match at 3-3.
  • With one match remaining, Sebastian Mendoza of Babson broke a late serve that propelled him to a decisive 6-4, 6-3 win over Andrew Mendelson to cap the win for Babson.
